I overall liked this post.

But I will say, by embracing therapy, Millennials are the first generation to actively break intergenerational trauma which will have a positive impact on our future.

“Prolonged adolescence” implies deviation from the social markers of maturity, intelligence, home ownership, and overall “have it get togetherness” — all of which of social markers within differing social constructs.

I’d wager that many former third culture kids have a “prolonged adolescence” because what defines adulthood is arbitrary and implies being tied down when our restlessness/need to explore is at odds to the more stationary life “adult” social markers require.
